About David Taylor 

David Taylor was a pastor at Hope Chapel in Austin, Texas, where over the course oftwelve years he oversaw an Arts Ministry and the Adult Education program. Bornand raised in Guatemala City, he studied at the University of Texas, GeorgetownUniversity, the University of Würzburg and Regent College in Canada, where hereceived degrees in theology (MCS) and biblical studies (ThM). Recently heedited the book For the Beauty of the Church: Casting a Vision for the Arts(Baker Books). He has written for Books & Culture, CIVA Seen,Christianity Today, Q, The Living Church and TheChristian Vision Project. His artistic interests include playwriting,modern dance and film. He and his wife Phaedra currently live inDurham, NC, where he pursues doctoral studies in theology and the arts, whileshe pursues the vocation of gardener, cook and visual artist.

As part ofhis job at Hope Chapel, David oversaw a church gallery; a laboratory forperforming artists called 8 Minutes Max;an artist internship and artist-in-residence program; and a summer artsfestival that involved three weeks of visual, poetic, and performance art.
